Abstract

In its next three issues, the Nebraska Law Review will publish several articles related to judicial restraints and the recent case of Nebraska Press Association v. Stuart, 96 S. Ct. 2791 (1976). The article by Lincoln County Attorney Milton Larson is the first in this series. Larson requested certain judicial restraints on publicity in the Erwin Charles Simants murder trial and defended his position before the United States Supreme Court in the Nebraska Press Association case. His article is a position paper written prior to the Supreme Court opinion. It gives a history of the events leading up to the requests for judicial restraints.
