Abstract
Racism continues to permeate the provider-patient relationship today on both the provider and the patient’s sides. One way to combat this racism is to bring an intentional infliction of emotional distress claim against the provider (if you are a patient) or against the patient (if you are a provider). It will be a very high bar to reach, but it is possible to reach it, as we saw in Brown and Greer.
