Abstract
This article examines the nature and magnitude of the problems caused by grain elevator insolvencies and the procedures available to the producer under the 1978 Bankruptcy Code. A number of common concerns have been expressed regarding the adequacy of the procedures. The provisions of the 1984 Act are analyzed to determine to what extent the plight of the producer has been improved.
