Abstract
The Quality Improvement Center for Workforce Development (QIC-WD) is dedicated to understanding how to improve child welfare workforce outcomes. This video provides an overview of the demands of the child welfare caseworker job and the challenges associated with recruiting and retaining workers. Workforce issues are a problem across the U.S., according to the Children's Bureau, and the QIC-WD, led by Dr. Michelle Graef, worked with eight sites across the country to implement and test a mix of workforce interventions. Each public child welfare agency partnered with human resources to create a thoughtful intervention to improve worker retention.
